10 on 10 || Decorating Cookies || February 2019 || Vancouver Family Photographer

This months 10 on 10 blog circle is decorating Valentine’s cookies. We went to the store a couple weeks ago and she saw some cookies and wanted to decorate them. So I said I would get them closer to Valentine’s day. So the other day I brought them home and showed her and she of course wanted to make them that day. So I popped them in the oven, made the icing and then got my camera out and let her decorate! As you can see from the first photo she was very excited and you can’t decorate without having a little taste of the icing before your all done!

Continue on with the blog circle and head on over to Blueberry Hill Images and check out Jennifer’s latest post HERE!

A Day In the Life Session with Jen and her boys || Documentary Family Photographer || Surrey, BC

Last month I got to hang out with Jen and her 2 sons at their home in Surrey. Jen is also a photographer, you can check out her work here. As photographers we are always taking photos of other people or even of our own kids but then we find that we are not in very many photos with them! So Jen wanted to do a session with her boys where she was actually in the photos. This day in the life session was perfect for that because they got to hang out at home and just be themselves and I just captured their day for them. These are the memories we want to remember as our kids get older, the things that we used to do with them like baking cookies, reading, watching dishes, and just playing. Here is the slideshow with all the images and below are some of my favs from our session!

Thompson Family Day in the Life || Surrey Family Photographer

In February I did my first Documentary family session with the Thompson family. I went to their house bright and early so we could get some photos of the entire family together before the little one went down for a nap and so we could finish up before the older one had to go for her nap. I really loved doing this session so much! I love how it was so relaxed and there was no stress on the part of the family or me. I told them ahead of time that they didn’t have to do anything at all to prepare and did not need to get dressed up either. I would just be going over and capturing part of their day. I wanted it to be authentic and show their story. This type of session is different because there is no posing but it is real life because it is showing their daily life. It will be so great to look back at these memories when the kids are older and show them the things they loved doing, some of their favourite toys and games and all the expressions that they used to make when they were little. My goal in these sessions is to capture life as it is now. Click play to view the slideshow of all their images and below that are some of my favs from the session.

I am so thrilled to now be offering these sessions. So if you are interested please contact me I would love to chat!
